Call out to residents in Leigh and surrounding areas!
What would you like to see at Leigh’s first Community Arts Centre? opening in late spring 2019, Floor 3 Spinners Mill, Park Lane, Leigh.
The last 7 years working within our community on art and cultural projects have been amazing! We are looking forward to moving up the road into our own permanent arts studio space at Spinners Mill. This has been a plan years in the making!
We’ve been getting feedback and consulting with local council services, charities and providers in our local leigh area for the last year, including our members steering group meetings that has been feeding our ideas over the years. But we need more… our long term plan will eventually see the new centre, the very first of it’s kind in Leigh, to open 9am-9pm Monday to Sunday offering a variety of Arts for Wellbeing, Arts for Leisure, Arts for Community, Social care and work opportunities, for ages 0-100+, working in partnership with local providers and artists.
But we need to make sure we offer the kind of things the public want, as well as the chance to see new and different experiences too. We need your thoughts and opinions! Please join us to find out more about our plans plus to share your ideas… we’ll even throw in a cuppa and some cake.
There are two times to come share your thoughts, 1-2:30pm and 7-8:30pm. Each consultation will allow 30 minutes for networking at the end. If you can’t make either of these, then please email your ideas or questions to info@umbrella-arts.org.
All ages are welcome to attend.
We are particualry interested in young people ages 11-25 to attend to share their thoughts on our new youth plans, and men ages 18-30 & 30-60 years on our new men only arts society.
